Hepatitis A vaccine protects young children for at least 10 years

CDC researchers looked at nearly 200 full-term babies and toddlers and found that vaccination against the hepatitis A virus gave children under the age of 2 immunity for at least a decade. They also reported that the transfer of maternal hepatitis A antibodies to babies did not lower the efficacy of the vaccine. The findings appear in the journal Hepatology. HealthDay News (8/14)
