CDC finds nearly 80% decline in chickenpox from 2000 to 2010

The number of chickenpox cases in the U.S. between 2000 and 2010 fell almost 80%, from 43 per 100,000 people to nine, CDC researchers wrote in its Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report. The highest declines were reported among children, but adults with the disease are more likely to become seriously ill. (8/16), HealthDay News (8/16)
