CDC recommends one-time hepatitis C test for baby boomers

The CDC on Thursday recommended one-time hepatitis C testing for all Americans born between 1945 and 1965. The chances of having the disease are five times greater for baby boomers than other adults, CDC Director Dr. Thomas Frieden said. The agency previously recommended the test only for those considered at risk. The final recommendations were published in the CDC’s Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.
