Colo. exchange brings brokers to the table

The massive job of signing up as many as 800 people a day during Connect for Health Colorado’s open enrollment calls for an “all-hands-on-deck” strategy, according to small-business marketplace manager Jim Sugden. That means the expertise of agents and brokers is crucial, and the state hopes producers will become certified partners the effort. Brokers indicated obtaining certification is important to retaining their stake in the market, and in some cases brokers are anticipating increased business and planning to invest substantial time in educating consumers about what the Affordable Care Act means to them.
