Consumers give brokers top marks as ACA info sources

About 84% of consumers responding to an Urban Institute-Robert Wood Johnson Foundation survey said brokers and insurance agents are “somewhat” or “very” helpful in helping find information on Affordable Care Act qualified health plans. Seventy-seven percent of respondents said navigators, community health workers and CMS officials are somewhat or very helpful. About 40% of Hispanics and 31% of non-Hispanic whites used a broker, agent, navigator or call center to find plan information; 43% of people aged 50 to 64 and 22% of people aged 18 to 34 used some form of direct assistance.
