A study of almost 4 million people born in Denmark from 1950 to 2008 found that those with a first-degree relative who died of heart problems before age 50 had double the risk of suffering from a cardiovascular disease. The study in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology also found that more cases of premature cardiovascular death in a family raise the likelihood of early onset of heart disease.
