House Democrats filed a motion to intervene in a lawsuit brought by Republican-led states that challenges the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act after the Trump administration declined to defend the health care law. The filing, which requests that House lawyers be allowed to defend the ACA in the case, follows a federal judge’s ruling that the law is unconstitutional without the individual mandate penalty.
