Forty-three percent of Americans say the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has had a mostly negative effect on the country, and 21% say it hasn’t had much of an effect at all, according to a new Bankrate.com report. Only 28% say the ACA has had a mostly positive effect.
S&P recently predicted that, by 2020, nine in 10 workers who get health insurance through their employers will manage their own health plans on Obamacare-style government exchanges.
According to Bankrate.com, 30% of Americans say this would have a negative effect and only 14% expect a positive change. Twenty-three percent of those with employer-sponsored health insurance say they are more likely to retire early or otherwise leave their jobs due to the ACA. On a positive note, the Bankrate.com study also found that the percentage of Americans without health insurance has fallen to 11%, which the lowest since August 2013.
