A study found that consumers buying insurance through a well-designed website made errors costing about $77, compared with $533 among consumers shopping on websites lacking cost calculators and “smart” default options. “We do expect that many people will want to talk to a person and not just rely on a website, so navigators and brokers will be very important,” study co-author Tom Baker said.
