Disability Insurance:
Disability Insurance is designed to replace part of your income if you are injured and cannot work. Disability plans usually pay around 50% to 60% of your income and an additional small amount maybe picked up by Social Security Disability. Disability policies usually have a choice of elimination periods, which is the length of time you have to be disabled before your benefits begin. The longer your elimination period the less your policy will cost. Typical periods are 30, 60, 90, or 180 days. You will also have a choice about the benefit period you select. This is the time the policy will pay if you are disabled. Typical periods are 1, 2, 5 and to age 65. Obviously at 65 full Social Security is designed to kick in. If you want more information or a quote on disability please fill in the extra section for disability on the information form.
